I have been giving some talks about my recent book “Matilda-effekten”, see below. Contact me if you would like to hear more or to invite me for a talk or discussion arrangement.
Talk at Danske Videnskabsjournalister
Thursday the 26th of March, 2026, I was invited to give a talk at the yearly meeting for the organisation Danske Videnskabsjournalister (“The Danish Science Journalists”). It was a very interested audience and we discussed the pros and cons of using the graphic novel format for communication of science and science history.
Talk at symposium in Århus
On Friday the 20the of March, I was invited to Århus to give a talk about my work with polio and my book. It was the organisation Poliosagens venner (= “The friends of the polio case”) who had invited me to come and give the talk/lecture at their whole-day-meeting. It was a very nice and interested audience, of which a few had had polio themselves back in 1952/53, when Denmark was severely struck by an epidemy. There was also a very big interest in bying the book – so big that the books I had brougth quickly were sold-out. The book can however also be purchased from the publishers’s (FADL’s forlag) website.
Litterature-talk at Hørsholm Library
On Wednesday 25th of February, I was invited to Hørsholm Library for a talk about my book “Matilda-effekten”. We discussed the concept of the Matilda Effect, the choice of graphic novel as media and the four amazing women, that the book follow (both their lives and their research). The audience was very interested and it was a very nice evening!
On the stage discussing the book. Signe Marie Skovmand Thomsen arranged the meeting and interviewed me about my idea, process, research and much more.
