The last months, I have been working on a series of illustrations (for a customer) about human evolution and development. See a variety of them below.
The adolescence period (from the onset of puberty until the mid 20’ies) is the most formative periode of life – and the brain is shaped by what it is being used for. In this animation, I try to explain how this is taking place. Scientific references in the end of the film.
Previous Next Together with the association for Danish Science Journalists (Danske videnskabsjournalister), I went to visit the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund in Sweden. It was super-interesting! ESS is a huge research facility under construction. When finished in a couple of years from now, it will be the world’s largest and most powerful neutron […]
I love to make illustrative infographics that summarizes scientific subjects. Here is one about Space Physiology – thus, what happens during long time in space. It is inspired by the fact that ESA (The European Space Agency) a few weeks ago announced that the Danish astronaut Andreas Mogensen is again going on a mission to […]

I am currently working on an animation about air pollution for Aarhus University. In that project, I have modelled the alveoli, which is the place for exchange of gases (oxygen, carbondioxide) between the exterior and the blood. Unoxygenized blood arrives from the heart, pass by the capillary network surrounding the alvoli sacs (the wall of […]
I have produced an animated film for a research team at Lundbeck. It describes the methodology of EEG (electroencephalography) in rodents, used to study the effects of neuropharmacological compounds. The research was published in a research paper in Frontiers in psychiatry by Christien Bowman and Kjartan Herrik, where my animation (in three parts) can be […]
Last year, I made an animation about ground water pollution and its impact on human health – for Torben Sigsgaard at Aarhus University. Read his tweet about it here: pic.twitter.com/csqdxW6fUi — Torben Sigsgaard (@TorbenSigsgaard) January 12, 2022 The animation can also be found here: https://publichealth.uic.edu/news-stories/global-health-research-connects-nitrate-in-drinking-water-with-birth-defects/
It’s the end of 2021 – and the beginning of 2022. I hope for a great year – hopefully without too much COVID-19 and with new and better solutions for great challenges like the climate changes. With this image of a crack in the ice (on the lake close to my Swedish summerhouse) that really […]
